TESTIMONIALS

Dr Steve's Surgery Session 2024

I spent my Friday evening at Dr Steve’s Surgery Session - Silvershine Jazz. He was accompanying a performance art act: Thomas & Muse, Ben Thomas on trumpet and synthesised sounds, and Lucy Muse performing.

The music at times was a quiet accompaniment, at other times it was the focus. Ben showed an amazing range: at times soulful, at other times he produced sounds I didn’t know a trumpet could make.

Steve Tromans began by tentatively offering chords to punctuate the performance, slowly building to improvise beautiful melodies. The highlights for me were a duet with Ben that to me felt like the build up to an orgasmic climax, followed by a blissful sigh, then the final movement, a beautiful improvised piece by Steve that felt like the sunrise.

I haven’t seen a performance artist like Lucy Muse before. I was entranced by what she was trying to say through her actions, words and movement. The live creation of a paper sculpture which we saw gestated and birthed; painting the audience using her leg as a canvas; sketching a portrait using raw beetroot carved open in front of us and a carrot; then a final spoken piece about the loss of her brother, it was very moving.

The night was very thought provoking and beautiful. James Beckingham

GONG 2023

We think your version of the Witch's Song/I am Your Pussy is fabulous. Writing as someone who knew Daevid and Gilli for over 30 years I can say with complete confidence that they would both have loved it. Fly my pretties!  Jonny Greene - GONG
