Lucy here - I wanted to share a few moments I captured at the Brecon Jazz Festival today while listening to Ben Thomas perform alongside the brilliant singer-songwriter Tanya Walker and her choir plus Gareth Lewis on guitar.
 

I first heard Tanya’s voice on Ben’s 2013 album, Within This World Within My Mind. Her voice was full of character and expression. I truly love that album, and I really hope Ben and Tanya create more music together soon!
 

It felt quite nostalgic seeing them share the stage again. They’ve performed together several times over the years — most notably at the Hay Festival and Brecon Cathedral. Ben’s horn and Tanya’s voice blend so naturally together, and on this occasion, Tanya’s brilliantly enthusiastic choir added an extra epic feel. A wonderfully sunny performance to match the weather.
 

I love hearing Ben play alongside voices in such a stripped-back acoustic setting. I hope these photos capture the vibrancy of the performance!
